Relate: One of my favorite YouTubers is David Wood. I think I should give a fair warning before you all go and check him out. He isn’t for the faint of heart. David Wood is a psychopath. I mean that literally. He is a medically diagnosed psychopath. By this, I am going by the medical definition that a psychopath is “a personality disorder characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits.” David Wood is bold, a little arrogant, and he doesn’t care what other people think about what he says. He just says the truth as he sees it and lets the chips fall where they may. David Wood is also heavily involved in apologetics primarily targeted to combat Islam. Combine these two and you end up with videos like Who Killed Muhammed, How Muhammed Seduced His Adopted Son’s Wife, Muhammed: The White Prophet With Black Slaves, and Willy Wonka And The Prophet Factory

But I am going off on a tangent. The point I was going to make is that David Wood has a term he uses that came to mind when I read this verse. That term is “Keyboard jihadis”. This is a term he uses to deride those who will vigorously defend Islam on their computers but who never do a thing in real life. Think of it as the Muslim version of Social Justice Warriors. For those not familiar to this latter term, SJW’s are people who promote politically correct (or socially progressive) views but they do so out of a sense of personal validation of self-righteousness, not out of a truly felt conviction. The term often is used to refer to those who cry out against injustice online, but who never actually do anything about changing their lifestyle or the world.

React: It makes me wonder… We have keyboard jihadis for Muslims and SJW’s for the left, but what would the Christian version of the word be? What about those who will post Christian things on their Facebook wall and who will rant and rail in the comments section of other posts but who still live like the devil when nobody is watching? What about those who might raise their hands and sing at the top of their voices during a Sunday worship service but then walk into a workplace on Monday for a company they know is using and/or promoting ungodly and unjust policies without lifting a finger toward change? What about those who will scream out about how companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are practicing unbiblical policies and then get on their laptop, do a google search, and end up buying something else from Amazon? What about people who promote their faith but do not practice it? What about people like me?

Help me to live out what I say I believe. Don’t let me just be another soul who will get on the computer and write another post but who will not live it out. Don’t let me be someone who will honor You with my lips even as my heart drifts further and further away. God, I want to want You more.
