As crowded as these homes probably already were, I watched over and over again these kind and loving citizens open their homes to those who had been evicted (on pain of death) from theirs. I cannot but help compare the response of the western world that has such a greater capacity and yet continues to keep their doors closed.

If ever there was a group who would rightly be able to say “not my leader” it was the first century Jews. But what did Jesus say to them? What do we today owe our president?
Is this really God’s will?
It is much easier to speak out against the violence of our leaders than it is to curb the violence and abuse of authority in my own heart.
I hate how the popular social media trend has been to satirize the poor man. Comparisons of him with Hitler, memes of all sorts using unflattering photos to ridicule him, taking soundbytes and turning them into “drunken rants”… seriously, America? Grow up.
