Do you know what there are none of in the gospels? Funerals. There not a single recorded incidence of Jesus going to a funeral and it not turning into a celebration.
Conquer death? That’s already been done.
No matter how the votes are cast, Christ is Victor.
Jesus is the only one who, once dead, raised Himself back to life. His visit to the grave was a short one. He was just making a delivery (my sin), and doing some vandalism (kicked down the gates) and theft (the keys).
Dead people had a bad habit of coming back to life whenever Jesus was around.
Our time here on earth is not everything. What we do here is only the prequel. It is less than the opening line in the amazing, wonderful, adventure filled story that is our life.
One diminutive man showing love and respect while still not bending his will demonstrated the greatest manifestation of power seen in the twentieth century.
