We have a God of presence and a God of power. If we learn to keep our focus on this knowledge, we can live a life of joy instead of fear and doubt.

The Psalmist speaks of tumult, raging seas, waves, and surging tides. These are images of struggle and trial. However, he also speaks of unfailing love, singing, and praying. In fact they are written right next to each other.
These poor troops were so frightened they had literally dug holes in the ground and then stuck their heads in. Thus the phrase was born, “Buried their heads in the sand.” All this time you thought it was about ostriches.
It was the betrayal that made the saving possible, but it was love that made the choice to save. It is the motif of the savior.
