It is completely correct for a Christian to say, “I am saved. I am being saved. I have not yet been saved.”
Grace means we do get what do not deserve. Mercy means we do not get what we do deserve. Grace means God’s favor is poured out. Mercy means His wrath is withheld.
If he were judged by our understanding of “good theology”, there could only be one verdict… Jesus was a heretic.
Jesus saying that nothing can snatch His sheep from His hands is a declaration of love. We do Him a disservice and completely miss the point when we reduce it to a theological proposition.
