May 30 – What Is Truth

“What is truth?” Pilate asked. (John 18:38) Read: 2 Samuel 15:23-16:23, John 18:25-19:22, Psalm 119:113-128, Proverbs 16:10-11  Relate: Breakfast had been ruined. What It Means

And Pilate posted a sign on the cross that read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” The place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek, so that many people could read it. Too Much of a Bad Thing

Pilate went outside again and said to the people, “I am going to bring him out to you now, but understand clearly that I find him not guilty.” Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said, “Look, here is the man!” (John 19:4-5) Read: Romans 15:1 – 16:27,…

Kingdoms Collide

But my Kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36) Read: Romans 2:1 – 4:25 Relate: In his book Simply Jesus, NT Wright talks about a clash between Rome, the Jewish…
