There wouldn’t be over 3 billion dollars a year spent by certain interests to make sure certain politicians voted they way they wanted them to if it wasn’t working. Rich people and successful businesses didn’t get where they are by making stupid investments. It should come as no surprise that in the last three USA presidential elections (at least) the candidate who raised and spent the most won. Bribes work.
In taking away their liberty, God had set them free… For the American Independence Day, are we revelling in liberty or are we celebrating true freedom?
Just imagine that. Little brother get’s dad’s famous name. Gallio? Nope. He gets named “new light” and then is forced to live in the shadows of his more brilliant relatives.
Would I be willing to have my name completely removed from the picture? If total obedience means complete obscurity, am I willing to walk down that road?
The first command God gives Gideon when he sets the people on the path to freedom was to tear down the altar. The first and most crucial step towards freedom was repentance.
This is in my opinion one of the most underrated stories in all the Bible… No matter how boring of a story teller you might consider yourself, this story sells itself.
