I Will Send

Read: Deuteronomy 18:1-20:20, Luke 9:28-50, Psalm 73:1-28, Proverbs 12:10

I will raise up a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites.
I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell the people everything I command him.

I will personally deal with anyone who will not listen to the messages the prophet proclaims on my behalf.
But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.
(Deuteronomy 18:18-20)

Relate: This verse reminds me of a young pastor I met at a youth group. He shared his struggles at work and how he prayed for us to see how God speaks through people to guide us in our lives., just like the pastor. They encourage us to listen and follow God’s way by paying attention to their words, we can learn to live out our faith every day.

React: This should inspire us to be open to the teachings and guidance of those around us. For anyone reading this devotional, it serves as a reminder to seek out and listen to spiritual leaders while also being willing to share our own experiences and insights with others. By doing so, we create a community that supports each other in following God’s path, deeper faith, and understanding.

Respond:

Dear Father,
Thank You for the leaders and mentors You place in our lives to guide us. Please help us to listen to their wisdom and learn from their experiences. May we be open to Your voice through them and apply their teachings in our daily lives. Strengthen our community so we can support one another in faith. Let us grow closer to you as we follow your path together.
Amen.
