As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
so are sluggards to those who send them.
(Proverbs 10:26)
Relate: I can’t keep asking people to help me. I can’t keep begging. Whether it is at school or relationships, I should be able to walk on my own. But the thing that is stopping me is laziness.
React: Laziness always gets in the way with life, keeping us from reaching our goals and full potential. It makes us unreliable to others and to ourselves, laziness is a burden to those who depend on us. If we keep relying on others because we are lazy, then we might become a burden ourselves. But recognizing it is better than just not doing it. The fact that you acknowledge your struggle means that you are already on the path to change. God called us to be diligent and responsible, not just for ourselves but for others.
Respond:
Dear God,
Give us the strength to overcome laziness. We seek You and ask for wisdom. Guide us towards self discipline. Help us start with small, meaningful goals that will help us create habits of responsibility.
Amen
