I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
(Psalm 27:13)
Relate: Every time I get into trouble in a relationship, it makes me feel small and intimidated. In my life so far, the hardest adversity was when I was in my freshman year of high school, I had a conflict with an upper-grade girl. It wasn’t really the fault of either side. It was all a bunch of misunderstandings caused by those who were conveying the messages between us. I tried my best to reconcile our relationship, but things didn’t go as I hoped. So I fell into depression on my own, thinking that my school life was over. I thought there was no one to rely on, and I constantly blamed and hated myself.
After I read Psalm 27:13, I learned that I should be hopeful even in difficult times. God has plans and He works in my life. So even if it doesn’t look good in the sight of humans, we must be confident in the goodness of God. Also, we should be faithful and trust God that our suffering is one of His ways. Through them, He brought me a lesson and a result that I couldn’t even imagine. Nothing can change the goodness of God, so when we are suffering, we should trust in God and leave it in His hands.
React: The best method to overcome our hardships is to be patient and trust God. Even though I know that the Lord is working in my life, it’s not easy to fully surrender everything to him and find peace in my heart. Therefore, we must pray and earnestly seek the Lord’s help. Difficulties will continue to arise in our lives. However, if we follow God, we will ultimately be able to overcome our struggles.
Respond:
Dear Heavenly Father,
In our lives, there are so many great and small struggles. Please help us to seek and rely on you when we are caught in such pain. Because we know who you are, please help us to be confident in every situation.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
Amen.
