Times In Life

By Caleb

Read: Numbers 26:1-51, Luke 2:36-52, Psalm 60:1-12, Proverbs 11:15

Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies?
Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless.
With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes.
Psalm 60:10-12

Relate:
Have you ever experienced something so sad that it seems like everything that happens is out of your control? Have you ever wondered why God allows those sorrowful, painful things to happen? I think this is a topic that is often discussed and there are a lot of opinions out there. Some say that these things are trials that God gives to people in order to sharpen their faith. Others say that it is not all God’s work, but also the work of Satan. However, in my opinion, these things don’t really matter because, at the end of the day, you will realize that whatever happens, it can be solved by counting on God.

I don’t know if you’ve had this experience, but I have. It was a sad experience, and I wanted to ask God why He would allow this to happen, why the God who loves us so much would allow this to happen. I kept asking, but in the end, I realized that it might be God who had allowed it to happen, or maybe Satan was just messing with me. No matter what, no matter how hard it was, I still ended up overcoming that sadness by clinging to God. I guess maybe the reason such things happened doesn’t matter since the result was good. Maybe that’s a bit of an extreme way of thinking, but how can we understand spiritual warfare?

React:
I don’t know if you agree with what I’m saying, but I still want to tell you that there are times in our lives when a lot of unavoidable things happen. There are times when these things happen that will give you the illusion that God has, perhaps, left you. But that is false. God is always there, opening His arms and waiting for you to go to Him. He will strike down all your troubles for you. Though there are times when it’s not a matter of not doing it, it’s a matter of time not being there yet.

Respond:

Our Father in Heaven,
You are the God we should honor. You are the God who loves us. I am going through something right now and I thought you had left me and I am here to ask for your forgiveness. Please help me to be able to have the strength to get through this and help me to knock down these sad things.
Amen.
