Always There

By Zach

Read: Numbers 15:17-16:40, Mark 15:1-47, Psalm 54:1-7, Proverbs 11:5-6

I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good.
For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies.
Psalm 54:6-7

Relate:
Psalm 54 talks about why God wants his people to be righteous and not be sinful. Being righteous leads people to the right path. Being righteous leads a person to the right direction while being wicked leads a person to be astray from God. A righteous person would help a person stay out of trouble, while a wicked person gets a person into trouble. While these are both important ideas we have to learn from these verses there is another. It also talks about how we pray for protection from enemies or wrongdoers and acknowledges that God is the one protecting them and to end it, the verse mentions how God will triumph over our troubles and those who wrong us.

React:
This is a very powerful chapter. Personally, I find comfort in this verse because I place trust in God’s protection. It also talks about how we pray when there are troubles and when we have adversaries. It also says that God is their helper so this gives confidence in him that no matter what challenge we face in life God will always be there for us. This verse should serve as a reminder that God is our ultimate source of strength and we can trust him.

Respond:

Dear God,
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to talk to you, we seek your help and protection. We also know that you are our source of strength and are with us even in the face of opposition. We ask for your help in times of trouble.
Amen
