I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me.
Numbers 10:14
Relate:
In my freshman year I moved to a new school from homeschooling and our class was so inviting and friendly so the next year I knew I wanted to do the same, not just for the new kids but to go and be friends with everyone I could. I wanted to be the person available for anyone to rant to, I wanted to be the open ear that everyone is comfortable with. I wanted to be everywhere but then I got tired. I was everywhere at once with no anchor to the point where I did not know where I belonged. I wanted to help everyone but got emotional burnout because of it. God was there the whole time right by me helping me and waiting for me to rest in Him. That is when he showed me people I can rest in, the people I can go to after being social with the world and I’m so thankful for them.
React:
We cannot put the burden of the world on us nor can we carry our burden ourselves. First, we have God, our best friend, our confidant, Savior, Master, King, and Lord. He is our first and best place to go to when we are burdened. Then we are also given friends. The body of believers that are commanded to build each other up and help each other. If you are struggling, pained, need help, or anything important to you, go to God first. It may be easier said than done, but if we work hard and together to get into the habit of going to God it will be easier as time goes on. He has also put other people in our lives to help us. We aren’t supposed to carry our burden on our own nor are we supposed to give it to our friends, we share our burdens all together.
Respond:
Dear Lord,
Please help me let go of my burdens, let me rest in you, Lord. Help us also help those around us and show your love to them and the people around us. Help us be a light to the world for you. In Jesus name, I pray.
Amen
