His Return

By Joy

Read:

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
Mark 12:32-33

Relate:
Approximately four years ago, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a group called ‘Shincheonji’ was exposed in South Korea. The leader of this cult, Lee Man-hee, claimed, “I am the Messiah, and I am here to save the world.” Naturally, Lee Man-hee was not the Messiah but an ordinary person. The Bible warns, “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it.” As written in the Bible, we should not believe those who claim to be Jesus. This chapter discusses the signs that will appear when Jesus comes again.

React:
We do not know when the day of Jesus’ second coming will be. Only the signs that will appear as the coming approaches are mentioned in the Bible. Reading the stories in this chapter, I pondered what I could hold onto. I concluded that I should be cautious of those who claim to be Jesus, other than Jesus himself, and always be vigilant, waiting for that day to come, as stated in the Bible. I believe that one day, God will come to the world and save everyone who believes in him. I should always be prepared, and I should always watch what would happen.

Respond:

Dear loving God,
I do not know when the day will come. Maybe it could be after my death, and maybe it could be during my life. I will never worship any gods, than God. As the Bible said, I will always watch. And I will wait until you come back to the world, and save us.
Amen.
