Read: Leviticus 11:1-12:8, Mark 5:21-43, Psalm 38:1-22, Proverbs 10:8-9
Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Mark 5:33-34
Relate:
Our salvation comes from believing Jesus Christ as our Savior who died for us on the cross and was resurrected. Faith is a key thing that we need to possess as it makes us see God’s work and his presence. According to Hebrews 11:13, the scripture says that faith is the assurance about what we do not see and is evidence of what we hope. Having faith means we are chosen and loved by God since he freely gives us a gift, faith.
React:
The woman who was suffering from bleeding for twelve years acknowledged the fact that she was a sinner. Despite the fact that she was not enough to believe or approach Jesus, she had a conviction that she would be healed even with a little contact with Jesus. That confidence is the result of firm faith which eventually leads her to freedom from both chronic pain and despair.
As I read the scripture, it reminds me of Matthew 9:12-13 where Jesus asserted that he came to call sinners, not the righteous as patients need a doctor, not the healthy. Throughout my life, I was afraid to take a single step toward God whenever I realized I was wicked and a sinner. However, from now on, I am free from the guilt that Satan wants me to feel, so I will seek God’s help and forgiveness if I stumble.
Respond:
Dear God,
I am sorry that I am a sinner who always turns back from you. Whenever I did not conform to your words and laws, my life was lost and meaningless. I sincerely repent that I hesitated to ask forgiveness and help from you; I was afraid of your wrath and condemnation. But now I learned that you want me back and still embrace me with unconditional love and warmth. I will be running to my father who opens his arms wide to welcome his child. Thank you so much for your blessings, and grace, and for being the kindest Father to me.
Amen
