Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser.
Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.
Proverbs 9:9-10
Relate:
I can relate to this because it reminds me of my family and what I go by. Our family is keen on becoming better people day by day, improving ourselves no matter what position we are in. We want to be real and genuine people, being able to talk to anyone without judgment. As we get older we want to learn more, especially me. I feel like however old I get, I want to be better, improve, and learn more. I want to learn about this world we live in and Jesus.
I see the fear of the Lord as fearing my parents. I think very highly of them for their wisdom and strength. I can relate since I want to get to know God more, and applying this makes me more comfortable since it is what I know.
React:
I feel that it is very possible to apply this to our daily lives. We need to use this to better ourselves and as a dedication towards this motive. We need to learn more as we grow older. We shouldn’t just go and act like we already know everything. We need to be aware that there are other people who might be way smarter than we are, and we are aware that we do not know everything at the same time.
We need to use the Fear of the Lord to understand our place in the world. We need to know how I am supposed to act, and we should develop as we age. As to knowledge from the Holy One, we need to use that to learn to go back and be better people. It is like a paradox.
Respond:
Dear Lord,
Please give me your strength and wisdom to treat and bless others, allow me to use your kindness and dexterity to treat all others as you would. Please forgive me, Lord, for not having the longevity to continue your word onto others, I wish to have a clear picture in my head of your saying, and of your might. I want your forgiveness for the times that I gave up, the hard times I faced, and never was able to stand back up for you. I wish the best among people and ourselves, in the way of spreading your name and your word. On how others shall treat each other in your word. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
