A few days ago, Amazon came out with their own version of Wattpad. They call it Kindle Vella. For those who are not familiar with Wattpad, this is a platform for serialized stories. Rather than spending $10 for a book, you pay a small amount per chapter with the first three chapters being free. In addition, readers have the opportunity to engage with the author as the book goes on. They have the opportunity to provide feedback and possibly even impact the outcome if the author is wise enough to listen to this feedback.
This idea might seem fairly new to our modern world, but it was actually the way many of the greatest books in history were written. The Count of Monte Cristo, A Tale of Two Cities, Anna Karenina, Treasure Island, War of the Worlds, and even And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie are just a few of the many, many books that were created as serialized stories.
I would not dare to place my own work on such a list of greats, but I am on Kindle Vella. Please head on over to check out My Brother’s Keeper. Give it a review, read the first three chapters free, and share it on your own blogs, facebook, and twitter accounts. I would love your help in getting this story out to the world.
