May 7 – Leadership and Servanthood
Am I like Eli’s sons, or am I like Samuel? Have I used my leadership positions and roles for my own greedy gain, or am I truly a servant?

I think often most of our problem with regards to leadership is that we think we can do it.
How can you spot an effective, confident leader? Look for the one serving others.
These were the type of guys David gathered around him. They weren’t the cream of the crop. The weren’t the best or the greatest. They weren’t mighty men. At least, they weren’t there yet.
Each of us has things God has called us to do. Each of us have unique talents and gifts that God can use in unique ways. Each of us are leaders if only we would step out of the boat.
I firmly believe that the mark of a leader is that they actually lead people. Maybe that is too demanding but if someone has a title, or the position, or the “authority” to be a leader then they should take stock. Look around. If nobody is following you, I don’t care what your title is or where you are getting your salary, you aren’t leading.
