“I will tell of the Lord’s unfailing love. I will praise the Lord for all He has done. I will rejoice in His great goodness to Israel, which He has granted according to His mercy and love.” Isaiah 63:7
Relate: Jan Grebzski was a railroad worker in Poland when he was hit by a train in 1988. Nineteen years later he awoke from a coma into an entirely new world. Poland then was still communist and under the thumb of the Soviet Union. Today the USSR doesn’t exist and Poland is part of the EU. Then even things like meat and gas were strictly rationed. Today it seems as if everybody not only has a car, but also a cell phone and a computer. Yet still he finds that everyone he meets seems to complain how hard and how difficult life is.
Sometimes God’s blessings come slowly. Yes, there are times and there are moments in our life when God is pouring Himself out on us. But most of the time we are changed little by little, bit by bit into His image. We don’t always have the opportunity to fall asleep and then wake up 20 years later to see how much God has done in our lives. That doesn’t change the fact that God’s love is still unfailing. He is working in our lives. Little by little, His mercy and grace is shaping us into what He wants us to become.
React: When was the last time I stepped back and looked at all God has done for me? When was the last time I’ve thanked Him? How much different am I now from what I was 5, 10, or 20 years ago? Where would I be now if God had not walked this road with me? What about you?
Respond: God, I thank You for what You have been doing in my life. Sometimes it might be hard for me to see it, but I know You are still moving. I know Your love is unfailing. Help me to better recognize and appreciate the little ways You shower Your love on me day by day, moment by moment. I love you, God. Help me to love You more.
BJ, I like your blog so much. I am amazed at your daily faithfulness to articulate what you see and how God teaches you in the Scriptures day by day, year upon year. Your design has blossomed from your early days of blogging, and I like the overall concept of your design. I am wondering. How do you feel about setting up a sidebar with a little easier access to your content? There is an enormous amount of material, and I find I have to scroll for a long, long time on your main page. It’s a bit overwhelming for me. Others might not feel so; but I’m just saying… Also, I can’t find a bio. Would you be willing to add an “About” page with some info about you and your testimony? I would really like that. If it’s already somewhere and I’m just not seeing it, would you point me to it? And you must have stories about your life–things you have learned in this human condition, which I would very much like to read. Maybe it’s already on the site, but I’m finding it overwhelming to try to find it…Can you help? Many blessings to you.
