The best man made definition of God can be found in the Westminster Catechism: “God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.”
In looking at His attributes we will be taking each of these points, along with a few others and looking them in three categories. First we will be looking at descriptors of God, He is sovereign, eternal, unchanging, Spirit, transcendent, immanent, and Creator. Then we will look at what are called the three omni’s. He is all knowing, all present, and all powerful. Finally we will look at some of His moral attributes. God is good, true, faithful, just, righteous, and holy.
So true, BJ…I’m on a personal campaign to teach others that it’s not okay to use His holy name in vain.
Thanks so much for visiting me at http://www.thewritesteph.com! With God’s blessings, I plan to expand my blog and take the content up a few notches. 🙂
I thought you might be RC and was pleasantly surprised.
