His Faithful Love Endures Forever

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Let all Israel repeat: “His faithful love endures forever.” Let Aaron’s descendants, the priests, repeat: “His faithful love endures forever.” Let all who fear the Lord repeat: “His faithful love endures forever.” (Psalm 118:1-4)

Read: 1 Samuel 29:1 – 31:13, John 11:55 – 12:19, Psalm 118:1-18, Proverbs 15:24-26

Relate: I got about halfway through writing the devotional for today then stopped, deleted it all, and started over. That never happens. In over two years of writing and nearly seven hundred posts, I would say that I could count the number of times I have stopped and started over in a different direction on one hand and still have fingers left over. I am saying that to be safe. I am sure I’ve done it here or there but I honestly can’t remember a single time. Until today.

The thing is, I was planning on writing about how we can count on God in the middle of our troubles. No matter how hard things might get or how life’s circumstances seem to be stacked against you, Psalms 118:5-6 share that there is a God who is greater. The thing is, I was skipping over the most important part of this chapter to get to the trouble. The Psalmist is so adamant that this doesn’t happen that he makes the people repeat the most important line four times: “His faithful love endures forever.”

React: God has been so good to me. Over and over again, His provision has come in right on time. He has opened doors that I never imagined opening, He has paved ways for me through what seemed a tangled web of obstacles. He has blessed me, and blessed me again so many times that it seems like I start to take it for granted. Not today. Today, I am going to step back, delete that focus on all the troubles I might come across and instead cry out, “His faithful love endures forever.” Let me say it again, “His faithful love endures forever.” Stop reading a moment and say it out loud with me: “His faithful love endures forever!”

Respond:

God, You are so good. For more things than I can count, in more ways than I can imagine, You have proven Your faithful love to me over and over and over again. I am so undeserving but still You lavish Your love on me. Let me take a moment to just say thank You. I am oh so grateful that Your faithful love truly does endure forever.

  1. I really enjoy your devotionals. Today’s was spot on for me. So many times I forget to think, just how undeserving I am and my Lord continues to bless me!

  2. I am only where I am because of Him. I am only who I am because of Him. I am, only because of Him. And He’s loved me even when I was none of that!

I need never doubt, because His love does endure forever.

  3. HIS FAITHFUL love endures forever…. I so love that HE has faith in US!! what a concept eh? He STILL has faith in us… even while we murder each other and all His beautiful wildlife, kill our beautiful planet that HE made FOR us, and question HIM.. of all things…. we pause and question HIM!!! yet still HE IS FAITHFUL… Have you ever stopped and wondered WHY?? Why would HE continue to care at all, when we’ve shown Him over and over again we are not worthy? He is the epitome of a Loving Father… and we should be slapped upside the head! lol
God: I Love You! I can’t wait to sit upon your lap, like the child I am, so far from grown, so lost without You! Praise GOD!!! for HIS FAITHFUL LOVE ENDURES FOREVER!

  4. It’s His faithfulness that is amazing! Not our efforts, not what we bring to the table. But His lavish love that chooses to bless us–even when we’re so dad gum messy. Thanks for this.

    • They normally are scheduled to post at midnight eastern standard time. I accidentally posted tomorrows before setting the schedule so those who get it by email got a sneak peak. It should be visible online in about 1.5 hours.
